The Snow Peak GigaPower BF Stove has four prongs that serve as both the legs and the cooking platform, offering the convenience of a canister stove with wide and super stable support. The brass ring encasing the burner head focuses and balances the flame, and acts as a wind deflector that actually beefs up the output on this stove to a whopping 12,000 BTU’s, that’s 20% greater than other stoves in its class. The GigaPower BF folds and stores into its palm size case. Throw in a piezo ignition, and you have a simple stove that rocks.

GigaPower BF Stove On the trail
We used the new Snow Peak stove just recently on a 4 day trip into the BWCA, it was just a little heavier and larger than the older canister stove I had been using, however this BF stove is very stable on the ground and easy to level, something that can not be said for the burner mounted on top of the canister. One of the biggest advantages of the BF is the pot supports, they swing out from storage and form a large X to create a very stable pot platform, if you have ever dumped your dinner on one of the less stable platforms you will really appreciate this one. The gas valve works very nicely, having a good range, easy to go from candle power to blow torch. One more goodie, it has a built-in wind-screen…. getting it back in the storage case can be trying.. Motorcycle kit stove
Excellent, lightweight, low-volume stove with great stability when opened. Its auto ignition feature makes it a snap to light. Adjustable flame feature makes it more versatile. It takes up little space in my motorcycle kit. Now that I have used this stove in place of my old bottle gas stove, I would not want to give it up.
Fantastic from simmer to boil!
I typically cook for just me, or groups of 4-5 people, and we have GREAT food. Grilled salmon steaks, pasta, the works! This stove adjusts from candle-like flame to boiling terror in seconds! With stow peak fuel lights very quickly, much faster than the delay associated with an MSR Windpro stove I tried. In high winds I use this stove with a windscreen around the burner, but in mild conditions it s fantastic as a gourmet backcountry stove or a jet to boil water fast. The pezio ignition system makes it a no brainer when choosing between the MSR Windpro and the Snow Peak Giga Power remote canister stove.

Light and hot
Brings water to a boil in minutes and packs easily into a small plastic container. (included) Wish the holders had grooves to keep the pot from sliding but otherwise a good buy. If you’re not too concerned about the .4 ounces save 40 dollars and buy the non-titanium version but both are still great.
Awsome
This stove is so cool. I bought the non-titanium model, but I don’t feel the need to count ounces sooo that little extra does not bother me. The auto-start on this thing is the coolest, you never need matches, just click the lil auto start thing and off she goes. Like the person above, I also bought my stove, tank of gas, and pots, for all under the price of just a reg white gas stove. This thing simmers so much better then the white gas stoves that I have used in the past. The stove is also very small, about the size of one of those tall shot glasses. This is the best stove that I have ever used.
Great Stove
This is a great stove. I bought the stove, the pot, and the spork in one package, and it was as inexpensive as some of the other stoves alone. It ways hardly anything, and it will boil your water in a little over 1 minute. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
Incredibly Small, Clever, and Effective!
First stove I’ve ever owned that has zero learning curve for operation: I didn’t even read the instructions! Pulled it out at the campsite at 10,000 feet, and it worked just like a Maytag! Seriously, you just turn it on like your stove at home. I didn’t do any careful testing, but it heated water as fast as anybody else’s stove. Didn’t try the simmer - don’t need it. Relatively quiet. Wish it had little stabilizer feet for the fuel canister like Jetboil. Also, a bit tricky to fold up into absurdly small box. Hate size/shape of canisters - never stay put in your pack like a fuel bottle. Makes you look like a sissy compared to "real" backpacking stoves like my MSR, but I’m drinking coffee while the manly men fiddle with matches and fuel.
Best in its class but not perfect.
I’ve owned this stove for a few years now with zero problems. Fuel economy is excellent for a 3 day weekend with a buddy I would bring one of the smaller 110ml cans at moderate altitude(5-10k) and have plenty at the end of the trip. Does not offer good wind performance. Even though it isn’t recommended by those wishing to limit liability I use a tin foil wind screen. Just make sure radiated heat isn’t cooking your fuel can. ceramic igniter insulation is delicate so keep it in its hard case provided. Might be worth it to locktite any hardware to avoid loosing the tiny screws. So far its the best ultralight canister stove I’ve found.

titanium stove
This is absolutely the smallest most compact stove on the market, not to mention the lightest! I compared this stove with my buddy who has the exact same one only it’s made of stainless steel. I was pretty happy that you could actually feel the difference in weight. My friend stripped his stove down as much as he could but it was still quite a bit heavier than the titanium one. It boiled water quickly at 6000 feet but a wind screen would have made it more efficient. I used it to cook a steak in a titanium fry pan and burned the pan a little. My buddy paid a little more attention to his fry pan and found that if you keep a close eye on it you won’t have any problems with the small burning area of the stove scorching your equipment. My friend now feels he has to go out and by himself one like mine. Best and lightest stove I ve ever owned. Don’t buy the one with the auto igniter. It breaks really easily and adds needless weight to an otherwise excellent product.
Little ripper.
I have been a liquid gas stove guy for a while and decided to go back to the canisters to save some weight, and since the weight was my main concern I bought this stove. It is insanely light and compact. I figured this little stove would work well but would not be able to match my dragonfly in pure BTU output (seeing my dragonfly does a great imitation of the space shuttle on launch). To my surprise this little stove was able to boil water in just about the same time! There are a couple of things that you have to watch out for, the burner area is very small so you can’t just put your pot on the stove and forget about it, the stove will scorch your pan. Also if you buy this stove buy the windscreen, you will need it. If you are into light and small this is the stove for you.
small
Great stove, just a little few things that could be better. First of all the whole thing isn’t made of titanium. Just looks like the supports are titanium. Also I’m worried about the burner screen where the flame comes out, I used to own a Pocket Rocket and it boiled over leaving burned food on the burner, with the Pocket Rocket the burner holes where the flames come out are big enough to stick a pin in and clean out. The Snow Peak stove has a screen making it almost impossible to clean if something got burned on there. Comes in a little plastic case that fits well which I like.
Great stove
This is the first stove I’ve ever owned, although I have used backpacking stoves before. It s great, so tiny, yet stable on ground, logs, tables and fuel is cheap (220grams for $5). Water boiled instantly it seemed. I used very little fuel, from what I could tell, only went for two nights though. I would definitely recommend this as a quality stove for almost anyone. If you need a stove for a huge basecamp, this probably won’t handle it, but otherwise I don’t see any reason not to get this.
great
Super light and works great, can simmer and adjust heat easily. Would buy the windscreen with it. No problems with it whatsoever.

Very light and easy to use
Very light and super easy to use for stove novices (like myself). Very good heat output also. Note that Snowpeak says to use only their canisters, but I haven t found any good reason for this. Only main drawback is that a large pot would be somewhat unsteady. Also, like all canister stoves, fuel is rather pricey. (Titanium model is only 3/4 oz lighter yet costs $34 more.)
Excellent value!
This stove is exceptionally well made. Esthetically pleasing and fully functional. The extreme light weight, broad range of heat output, and convenience of the auto ignition are the best I have experienced. It also works well with Coleman and Primus gas cartridges. The low mass also means it cools quickly for repacking.
I love it
This stove is so cool. I bought the non-titanium model, but I don’t feel the need to count ounces sooo that little extra does not bother me. The auto-start on this thing is the coolest, you never need matches, just click the lil auto start thing and off she goes. Good stove overall but
good stove overall but the power source should be universal so that in a pinch I should be able to use other sources rather than exclusively Snow Peak canister. Make the power source universal, please….
Great in the cold; Not so good in the wind
I purchased this little stove after reading so many great reviews. Then I took it on a backpacking trip and quickly discovered this stove totally sucks in the wind. We had a light consistent wind (prob 7-10 mph) and the stove just didn’t like it. It kept blowing out. At least the Piezo igniter got things going quickly again but without a windscreen be prepared to be frustrated in any wind over 5mph. This stove did light up quickly in the morning at 25 F though even after leaving the canister out all night.

LOVE THESE!
These snow shoes are fantastic. They are the best ones I have ever used and I have used a lot of different kinds. I do a ton of hiking in the snow, with my trusty snowboard on my back. these go up hill and downhill great, do well in hardpack and in powder. They never clank together when i am stepping, even when I am really tired and am walking like a dead person they still don’t clank. they are very light weight and I never feel like I have snowshoes on. I wear these with my snowboard boots. They are so easy to take on and off and I have never once had them come off my foot like other snowshoes have. The snow does not get stuck and weigh these down. I really can not put into words how phenomenal these snowshoes really are. It is a total great package…from putting on, hiking around and taking off…amazingly great times!

This thing is small!
Been checking out canister stoves in REI for awhile and finally decided to order GigaPower from Backcountry. It was either this one or MSR’s Pocketrocket. Something about the look of this stove really caught my eye. Works great in no wind, but not so great in any wind. I really recommend getting a windscreen to be happy with this stove. Also, forget about auto-ignite…the feature weighs as much as a book of matches and matches are far more reliable.
GigaPower Kicks @$$
3.5 ounces and 10,000 BTU’s for $35. That’s a no-brainer. This stove fired every time and boiled a liter of water in less than 4 minutes, even above 10,000ft. One of the best purchases I’ve made in along time.
A Hot Little Stove
The SnowPeak GigaPower stove is a great stove that I would recommend to anyone wanting to travel relatively light. At 3.25 oz. the burner is one of the lightest around, but that’s only one of the pluses. I am more interested in fuel economy and flame control. The GigaPower does both well. Using a windscreen and watching the stove carefully, I was able to get 90 minutes from a 110 gram fuel cannister. It is hard to do this without excellent flame control, and the stove will hold a low simmer well. I looked at many stoves before purchasing this one, including the JetBoil system. The SnowPeak model beats it for weight (and price) and matches it for fuel economy.
A Miniature Masterpiece
The Snow Peak Giga Power Manual stove is one of those few things almost can’t be improved upon. It’s simple, rugged, incredibly lightweight and compact, and even has four pot supports, which is significantly more stable than three. I’ve had Piezo igniters fail and that’s why I went with the manual version. I bring a Bic and matches with me anyway. Definitely get the Snow Peak windscreen also. It’s compact, reasonably light, and will improve fuel efficiency. This is the stove that convinced me to switch from liquid fuel backpacking stoves. I’ll never look back.

Quick and easy
This handy lighter is so easy, a child could use (DO NOT GIVE IT TO A CHILD!!!). Fuel it up and its ready to go. There’s some great little features: the viewing window which lets you see how much fuel is remaining, the spring loaded opening button and the waterproof seal. This lighter is a must have for the outdoor enthusiast. I actually only wanted to buy the Terra cook set but it came with the Stella stove for a great price, so I thought I’d go for it! The stove is really great. So quick and easy to use. The auto-igniter is the best I ve used ever. Works a charm every time and saves you from singeing those precious hairs on your fingers!! The cook set it neat but it came with a little dent in the pan. The dent conveniently has shaped the edge of the pan into a pouring spout, so it’s actually an improvement but it’s never nice to receive damaged goods. I like to call the pots ‘anti-Backpacker’s Maracas’ as they don’t make a sound when stowed. The ‘hot blanket’ for the pots keeps your meal warm while you cook something else with the other pot. This slim-fit insulated stuff bag made of nylon and neoprene allows you to boil water, kill the flame, strap on the packing bag and to continue the cooking process. I ve never seen this feature with other cook sets. The whole package fits snuggly into the pots and stows away nice and light (minus the canister).
