Backpacking with Contact Lenses or Eyeglasses?
admin July 30, 2007
Long distance hikers should be aware of all weight that goes into their packs. One makes many sacrifices in order to keep our packs light. I wear contacts everyday when off the trail, and getting a pair of backup glasses soon. Include a pair of sunglasses and now I am up to a nice bag of toiletries to haul around the woods. How many of you wear contacts for long distance hikes? Is cleaning them a hassle on the trail? I weighed the options:
Contact Lense Solution and case: 13oz - 14oz
Eyeglasses: 1oz - 2oz
Sunglasses: 1oz - 2oz
I am thinking glasses with perscription sunglasses! But for those of you who can’t stop putting dirty fingers in your eyes, check out this:
