Ideal for winter camping, the Big Agnes Storm King 0-Degree Down Sleeping Bag weighs only 3lb 6oz (regular size) and has a roomy rectangular shape which is extremely comfortable to sleep in. To make the Storm King so lightweight, Big Agnes filled the top baffles of the bag with 650-fill down and didn’t use insulation on the underside of the bag, which would get compressed (and therefore would be useless) when you sleep. Instead, on the bottom of the Storm King is a rectangular pad sleeve that holds your sleeping pad securely in place. *Compatible with Big Agnes’ 20in-wide rectangular pads.

Product Review

Everything I expected
This is a very well made bag. I really can’t believe how comfortable (and warm) it is. I have never used a sleep system of bag and pad before (besides large air matresses while car-camping), and I love the weight savings you get from the bottomless bag. They are right about everything; you carry less weight, get more comfort, and get more warmth with their system. I highly recommend the Big Agnes bags!

Read the small print
You can’t use this bag when it’s below 20F so what’s the point?

Handy bag
I like being able to slide a sleeping pad right in part of the bag, no more sliding off the pad. I still wonder how its going to work in cold weather with no fill on the bottom. But for now i like the bag.

Product Review

Excellent sleeping bag for cold sleepers
I am a cold sleeper with very cold feet and unless I get my feet warm, I cannot fall asleep. My husband bought a Big Agnes a year ago and loves it. So I decided I shall try it and chose the Ethel. We went to Tahoe, the last weekend of August and admittedly the temperature during the nights was comfortably cool, around low 40’s. The Ethel was so comfortable that I overslept on both the days. I don’t recall sleeping that well in any of my previous camping trips. I also used a thermarest pad. A pad is a must for the Ethel bag. I couldn’t feel the hard ground at all. The bag was quite roomy for me and I got the smallest size that they have. I got the left zipper bag, since my husband has the right zipper. We zipped both bags together and that worked out pretty well too. The only problem with that was, mine is a smaller size and he has a regular, so the zip wouldn’t go all the way. Since the temp was quite tolerable, we were able to try that and it worked out quite good. Over all, I’m quite happy with the Ethel and am waiting to try it out in much colder conditions.

With its comfortable semi-rectangular shape and lofty 650-fill down, the Big Agnes Roxy Ann Women’s Sleeping Bag assures a comfortable sleep in most conditions. By adjusting the insulation for women, who tend to sleep colder, Big Agnes made the Roxy Ann to help you stay snug, even in frosty temps. As with all Big Agnes bags, a sleeping-pad sleeve replaces the down that would be on the bottom of the bag becoming compressed and useless during the night. This sleeve holds a Big Agnes 20-inch rectangular pad and keeps it there no matter how much you toss and turn.

roomy bag=not so warm
I used this bag w/the dual core insulated pad. It’s rated as a 15 degree bag, but where I was never dipped below 37 degrees at night (according to weather underground) and unless I was wearing long underwear, including socks, I was cold. Not underneath, thanks to the sleeping pad,or on the sides, but on top. Remember, girls (& guys?) that mummy bags are designed that way to be efficient. When I was appropriately dressed, however, I appreciated the non-constricting shape.

The Big Agnes Crystal 30-Degree Sleeping Bag features Dualmax construction, a combination of 650-fill down and PrimaLoft eco insulation, which makes it lightweight and warm even when wet. The unique combination of insulating materials in the Crystal Sleeping Bag is ideal for rainy-weather camping. Plus, this year the PrimaLoft comes from 50% recycled materials and thus diverted a few plastic bottles from the landfill. Like all Big Agnes sleeping bags, the Crystal has insulation only on the top and sides and has an integrated sleeping-pad sleeve on the bottom to hold your pad in place. *Compatible with 20in-wide Big Agnes rectangular pads.

Product Review

Roomy and Cozy
Nice Bag for cool weather…. must use Primaloft insulated pad to keep the warmth….very roomy for a mummy type bag can roll around inside…. zipper could use a little more attention tends to snag somewhat…overall good bag for daycamping, car camping & inside the tent …hope this helps

Great bag
This is an incredible bag for the price. The mix of down and primaloft keeps you warm, dries out quickly, and gives you that comfort of down loft that other synthetic bags lack. The outer shell is very durable and stands up to a ton of abuse. You’ll definitely need to get a pad for this one. Big agnes doesn’t insulate the bottom of their bags because they have a sleeve for a pad to go there. They do this because insulation on the bottom of a bag is severely reduced when you lay on top of it and really isn’t necessary. You also can’t roll off your sleeping pad which is the biggest pro in my book. I would recommend the Big agnes insulated REM pad. This adds insulation the bottom of the bag and insures that the cold ground won’t get to you.

Great Bag!
I used the bag on a night that got down to 30 degrees and I was warm all night sleeping in my boxers so I am sure in long johns the bag is good to 20 Degrees. The sleep pad being integrated into the bag is brilliant. I slept on a slight slant and never fell off my pad. It is ridiculous how comfortable the whole system is together. The best part is I can now fit my bag, pad and pillow (Therm-A-Rest small compressible) all into the included stuff sack and it all fits neatly in the sleeping bag pocket on my pack. I Highly recommend Big Agnes insulated sleeping pads and their sleeping bags to anyone who wants the most comfortable sleep available while being lighter and taking up less space than anything else out there!

The rectangular-shaped Big Agnes Yampa 40-Degree Down Sleeping Bag has a large 70in (regular size) shoulder girth, ideal for summer camping when you don’t want a tight mummy bag. The Yampa sleeping bag is stuffed with 650-fill goose down and weighs less than two pounds (regular) thanks to its ingenious design. Only the top and sides of the bag are insulated. Under you, where insulation would be compressed and useless, is a rectangular sleeping-pad sleeve that holds your pad in place, so you’ll never roll off it while you’re sleeping. *Compatible with 20in-wide Big Agnes rectangular pads.

Product Review

Yampa is one great sleeping bag
I have had down sleeping bags for about 15 years. I usually bike camp and always had problems with ending up on the ground rather than on the ThermaRest. So, Big Agnes came up with a unique idea that fixes the problem. I love this bag. It is warm, easy to set up and take down - you have to slip the ThermaRest into the slot. I would highly recommend this bag.

All you could ask from a bag
I already had a Big Agnes REM Air Core pad and decided to go with their bags as well. Used this for 2 weekend trips in the Indian Peaks and the system performed flawlessly. I am a warm sleeper, so my only caution would be to those who are chilly, a slight draft does come into this one as it is lacking a hood. For me though, my temp. was regulated well and the extra room in this bag was a big plus. Packs down well and light enough for my purposes. I would highly recommend!!!

Simple but nice
Very nice sleeping bag, down is comfortable and not poking out of the seams. Zippers were easy to use and find and were very smooth. Kept us nice and warm down in Moab, Utah on a 40 degree night. The following night it only went down to about 60 degrees and we ended up sleeping on top of the bag with a bivy sac on.

The Big Agnes Encampment 15F Sleeping Bag features Climashield HL synthetic insulation to warm you from spring to fall. The Encampment’s high-loft insulation surrounded by a water-repellent shell is ideal for damp climates and conditions. Big Agnes put a sleeve in the Encampment’s floor into which you slide your sleeping pad. This system not only provides insulation from the cold ground, it prevents you from rolling off your sleeping pad in the middle of the night. Use with any of Big Agnes’ 20-inch rectangular sleep pads.

Product Review

Tossin’ and Turnin’
The semi-rectangular cut and pad sleeve make this bag a must for anyone who tosses and turns in their sleep. This is the first bag I’ve owned that didn’t end up coiled around me after 15 minutes of sleep. Combine that with the low price (relatively), variable warmth control (add a thicker pad for cold-weather camping), and little extras (like a built-in pillow pocket), and you can’t lose.My guess is everybody will be building bags this way soon…

Moab
I used this bag down in Moab, Utah. Comfortable, zippers are smooth and don’t bind up too much. The only issue I had is I used the Big Agnes Air Core pad with it, when that pad is fully inflated it does stretch out the bag and does make it difficult to zip it open and closed. I had to let some of the air out of the pad to allow to zipper to open and close smoothly. But had no issues with being comfortable and warm with the sleeping bag.

Nice Bag
With the warmth and insulation of the Big Anges Encampment sleeping bag, Iwas sure I was going to roast all night during our summer campout. All Ineeded was a light blanket, but I decided to put the Big Anges to the test.I was very pleasantly surprised that all I had to do was leave the bagunzipped a little at the top and it was the perfect temperature all night.Definitely a very comfortable sleeping bag.

The 40F Big Agnes Cross Mountain sleeping bag is super lightweight and highly compressible. Big Agnes made the Cross Mountain to work as a warm-weather summer bag or as an over bag that adds approximately 25 degrees to any three-season bag for comfortable winter camping. Just put your three-season bag inside the Cross Mountain. A water-repellent outer shell fabric sheds moisture to keep the inside bag dry, which is ideal for winter conditions. A sleeve in the Cross Mountain’s bottom holds your sleeping pad in place so you don’t roll off your sleeping pad in the middle of the night. Use any of Big Agnes’ 20in wide rectangular pads with this synthetic bag.

Product Review

Big Agnes - Cross Mountain: 40 deg Synthetic
OK, as much as I wanted to give BA a 5 rating, I can’t based on use with a cot. I was camping in Eagle Cave, WI with the scouts…52 degrees and a very muddy floor…thus the reason for the cot. First night I got cold and had to slip on some extra clothes…not a big deal, but I was hoping the 40 degree bag would keep me warm at 50 degrees, even off the ground.

Big Agnes Rocks
I like this bag a lot. I was reluctant to try the Big Agnes style of sleep, not insulation on the bottom and all. Talk about thinking outside the box. I was already sold on the Big Agnes Insulated aircore pad. I guess the bag was naturally the next step. I was concerned about the pad being attached to the bag because I thought side sleeping would be difficult. The bag is cut to allow side sleeping. Also another thing is this is very roomy. Lots of wiggle space. Great design. Great constrution. Great Bag.

Big Agnes - Nice Bag
I took this bag on a long motorcycle trip through the Rockies this summer and it was awesome. The whole concept of slipping the pad into the bag is brilliant. I liked everything about it. It was easy to set up and pack. I don’t like mummy bags per se, but this is like an oversized one so I can move around a bit. Add the Big Agnes pad, and you won’t even feel the ground when you sleep! I wish the zipper went further down the side, but I slept so well I didn’t notice.

Product Reviews

The North Face Kilo (or the 2.2-Pound Bag to us Gringos) 32-Degree is an amazingly lightweight and compressible goose down sleeping bag that gives you spacious comfort in freezing temps. Weighing a negligible 2lbs 1oz (hey that’s LESS than a kilo!), this bag is perfect for backcountry touring and moving fast. Unlike many other The North Face Flight Series sleeping bags, the Kilo has a roomier shape with more generous space for the shoulders and chest. A vaulted footbox is spacious and extra warm for your feet and toes. The bag’s 30D nylon ripstop shell is treated with durable water repellent to combat moisture. The Kilo’s creature comforts include a color-coded pull cord for easy hood adjustment and easy-grab pull tabs and it stuffs down to the size of a football (an American one, that is)! *Not Available for Shipment to Canada.

Down to 30!
I just got back from a trip to OBX. It got quite cold at night (being the middle of March and all), and the Kilo bag kept me quite snug and warm! I really liked the vaulted footbox!

great
Great, warm bag. I love it!

PRODUCT REVIEW: Big Agnes Zirkel Sleeping Bag: 20 Degree Down

PRODUCT REVIEW: Big Agnes : Big Agnes Zirkel Sleeping Bag: 20 Degree Down Buy Now: $228.95 Product Reviews At only two pounds, the Big Agnes Zirkel 20-Degree Down Sleeping Bag easily cuts weight off your three-season camping kit. The insulation in sleeping bags becomes useless when it’s compressed. By replacing the insulation with a sleeve for a Big Agnes REM mummy-shaped pad (not included), Big Agnes brought the Zirkel’s weight down to 2lb (Reg) and created a system that keeps you on your pad while you sleep. Inside the water-resistant WRM shell is warm, light 725-fill down. The Zirkel also has an integrated pillow sleeve, where you can stuff your jacket, making yourself even more comfortable while you sleep.

Could be better
Good on the width of the bag. Zipper gets stuck easier than I hoped. Zipper zips all the way to your face near your eye but your protected by a down baffle. This is a awkward place when your trying to get out. I would like to see a bag like this offered with 850-down fill. It would be even lighter.

Awesome Bag!
I had a Mountain Hardware 2nd dimension sleeping bag before this and bought this one because I needed more room…and by more room I mean room at all… So this bag is pretty big! I fit in it being 6′2″ and 275 lbs! So there’s an idea of the size… It’s worth the cost! Great Product!

Big Agnes Zirkel
This is the best bag I have owned. It is light in weight and high in insulation. I was actually too toasty in a North PA AT hike in October.

Zirkel stiff
Can’t move around or sit up in this bag.
