The Arc’teryx Arro 22 Backpack’s compact size and smooth lines make it an excellent choice for long-distance day hikes or as a carry-over bag for multi-pitch rock climbs. The 1400cu inch main compartment holds enough food, water, and just-in-case clothing to keep you on the move for a marathon day of hiking or climbing. Arc’teryx made the Arro 22 Backpack with a combination of burly 1680D nylon, Armourlite, and Hypalon to ensure it stands up to the most abusive days in the mountains.

Product Reviews

More of urban pack
I have both size of Arro, they are both great for town use. Arro 22 is tad big for everyday use, it doesn’t have any compression straps, which makes it hard to compress if you are not filling it up. Padded bottom is great, but make sure you use a computer sleeve of you intend to carry a PC. It can use some organizer in it. It’s a good urban pack, but I won’t use it for hiking since it has no place to hook up ropes or anything.

The Arc’teryx Khamski Pack is a lightweight technical pack made for out-of-bounds skiing and day touring. A favorite of professional patrollers, the Khamski is complete with an external shovel pocket, quick-release ski attachments, and probe holder. The fixed top lid has a map pocket and compression straps to keep your load under control. WaterTight zips and superpack fabric battle the elements as you make your way up and down steep slopes. Arc’teryx uses aluminum frame stays and a HDPE framesheet for ultimate stability while traversing sketchy terrain and the Y-Frame suspension is derived from their long haul packs for a comfortable fit when fully loaded. Contrasting zipper pulls makes it easier to find your gear in an emergency. *Available for US shipment only.

Product Reviews

Pack is made of the finest materials
This pack is typical for an Arc Teryx product super high quality. The fit and load carrying ability of the Khamski is nothing short of amazing. The Stretch Woven Thermo Molded back panel wicks moisture better than any other backpack I have ever used. However, this pack lacks a few features I really enjoy such as rear access and a diagonal ski carry.

almost perfect pack but…
First of all, the materials and workmanship of this pack are among the finest. Arc’teryx must be commanded for that. I find this pack very well designed, originally targeted for skiing, but very versatile and multi-use, can be used for light backpacking and climbing. Other reviewers mentioned that some features are missing. Indeed, this pack is rather minimalist (hence very light) but I find that there are enough pockets (main, kangaroo, outer pouch, top lid, map pocket). Diagonal ski carrying is really a big miss. My biggest complaint is regarding the shoulder straps and hipbelt. The fit and load carrying capability is indeed amazing. However the straps and hipbelt are not as heavily padded as other comparable sized packs (for example Arc’teryx M40 or RT45). And the volume of the Khamski is huge, more than the 43L of the specs actually. The hipbelt is almost only fabric! Yet it performs better than competition. I would give this pack five stars if the shoulder straps and hipbelt were more padded.

Arc’teryx Khamski pack
I’m normally a big fan of Arc’teryx products. I was disapointed with this pack because of the lack of features. It’s not really hydration compatible as it is described. There’s no sleeve to hold a hydration bladder. For the price, this pack should have this feature as well as seperate sleeves for snow tools such as probe poles. Don’t get me wrong… the quality is excellent. I think Arc’teryx should re-visit the design on this particular ski pack.

The Arc’teryx Needle 45 Backpack is a lightweight weapon for fast alpine ascents. It has all the extras you need without extra weight. Beginning with the frame, heavy loads are stabilized through the V-frame suspension and strong frame-to-belt integration. To make sure you’re comfortable throughout your climb, Arc’teryx designed the Needle 45 with a Thermoformed back panel and shoulder straps. The lid pocket will fit plenty of small items, while the accordion-style front pocket accommodates larger items. The Needle 45 is hydration compatible, and features an easy access Rolltop and Drybag lid closure. Functional gear loops and quick-release clips ensure you have easy access to everything you need. *Available for US shipment only.

Product Reviews

Simple and sturdy
The Needle is super simple. Not a lot of frills to it, but it gets the job done well while keeping it light. It’s about as waterproof as you’re going to get in a backpack. I practically submerged it in a small stream and the contents didn’t even get wet. The top loader is pretty different from other brands. It makes it really easy and quick to get in and out of. Plus the 45 is perfect for some light overnight backpacking. The suspension makes the pack incredibly comfortable for day hiking. This is the first bag I’ve owned that didn’t make me sore the next day on my shoulders after a long hike.

Needle 45 is ideal for alpine style mountaineering.
I usually try to find the least expensive gear that will get the job done. One of the exceptions to this frugality is the Needle 45 from Arc’teryx. This pack may be a bit more expensive than its siblings from Lowe Alpine or others, but it is worth every cent. Its unique, roll-top main compartment is thirsty for gear and allows for a great way to shirk rain, sleet, and snow. It’s super comfortable, requiring no break-in time at all, and all of the straps, pads, etc. are top quality. The water reservoir pocket on the back works great, but you’ll want an insulated drinking tube for cold climbing because it is exposed, coming from the zipper to your shoulder. My only real complaint is that, aside from the reservoir pocket, there are no places to put extra water bottles. This can be cumbersome in dry places, especially if the interior of the pack has no room for extra water. But I’ve used my Needle 45 on numerous speed ascents of Colorado 14ers and hiked for miles and miles with it in Thailand. Overall, this is a great pack; it comfortably holds everything I’ve ever asked it to, and I have nothing but praise for it. I like it so much, I’m buying one for my fianc ‘. If you’re serious about 1-2 day Alpine Style, look no further than the Needle 45.

Wicked Rad!!
The best feature about this pack is the HUGE fish-mouth-like opening to put your gear in! I climb a lot and I hate trying to stuff all my gear in the tiny opening that my old pack has. With the needle, all you do is grab the handle, and drop in your whole rack. The bag just swallows it all, like the whale chomping down on poor Jona. Plus, its the most comfortable pack I’ve ever owned. This is a great pack for climbing!!!

Great Pack!
This is a great pack for hiking! The roll top makes it really easy to get in and out of the pack without messing with zippers.

Arcteryx Needle 45 is Amazing
I haven t yet started using the pack but just walking around campus with it on. I really like how comfortable the pack feels while wearing it. I hope to take a few day hikes and maybe even a week hike sometime later on when it gets colder. The shipping was quick and the transaction was smooth. Thank you. -Jonathan Seubold

The Arc’teryx Bora 50 Backpack has enough cargo space to carry all the gear for a plush overnight camping trip and ultra-comfortable suspension to make the hiking as enjoyable as possible. In addition to the Bora 50 Backpack’s 2800cu inch (medium) main compartment, it also includes a front kangaroo pocket, a lid pocket, and two stowable water-bottle pockets. Arc’teryx used their thermoformed waist-belt and back panel technology to give this overnight pack a comfortable carry. A single aluminum stay supports the load, even if you go a little overboard on the comfort items.

Product Reviews

Yes, It has a shovel pocket
The big kangaroo pocket on the back holds a shovel, handle and probe. This capability makes it a great overnight ski pack, and a great travel pack. Not lightweight but built to last the ages.

Product Reviews

As Advertised
I wanted a day pack that was truly water-proof but also holds enough gear for short overnight hikes. This is it! I Love the advanced composite material (foam impregnated fabric ) it is tough, ( we now build airplanes with this technique) lite wt. durable and totally waterproof. Filled with 22lbs, I tossed the pack in my swimming pool and it not only floats but all my gear stayed totally dry. I use it for winter snowshoe treks, all-day rain treks in Scotland and have not had any moisture inside the pack. The only inconvenience is getting into and out of the pack quickly thru the roll top and bayonet fittings with the cover on. It is still my favorite pack ( I have four others). The Hybrid construction always draws OOOhhs and AAAhhs from my trekking companions.

Product Reviews

Arc’teryx Acrux in the alpine
I can t even come close to describing how great this pack is. After years of suffering under a lightweight frameless pack, I gave up and went for this thing. Not only is it a pound lighter than the Cold Cold World backpack I was using, it supports loads better (no more jacked back), and it s WATERPROOF. I was sure it would feel fragile, but this pack is actually really burly. I ve even been taking on desert climbing trips without worry of it getting trashed. The profile is pretty tall and thin, so it s a little different to pack. It s also a bit tough to overload, as the top strap barely makes it over the top when this thing is full, but that s a pretty easy fix. You ll get use to the roll top pretty quick, though it feels strange at first.

Acrux 50 backpack
First rate workmanship, waterproof, and innovative concept. Don’t let the "50" fool you it unfolds to what seems 1.5 times a 50-liter volume. Combined with short sleeping bag, insulation and an outer shell, could be used as part of a bivy. Bulletproof. Expense is my only complaint.

The Arc’Teryx Needle 65 Backpack is a lightweight weapon for fast alpine ascents. It has all the extras you need without extra weight. Beginning with the frame, heavy loads are stabilized through the V-frame suspension and strong frame-to-belt integration. To make sure you’re comfortable throughout your climb, Arc’Teryx designed the Needle 65 with a Thermoformed back panel and shoulder straps. The lid pocket will fit plenty of small items, while the accordion-style front pocket accommodates larger items. The Needle 65 is hydration compatible, and features an easy access Rolltop and Drybag lid closure. Functional gear loops and quick-release clips ensure you have easy access to everything you need. *Available for US shipment only.

Great Pack… a few suggestions.
For awhile I’ve been looking for a happy median between a lightweight pack and something that provides adequate support. The Needle 65 (or the 55) does that pretty well for the right price. I have a tall and thin build, so I struggled with many lightweight backs not offering enough padding on the shoulders and hips. The Needle provides the support and padding, and has a taller and slimmer construction to fit my body well. The back support is simple (making it lighter than most), yet tranfers the weight to my lower body well. The bag also cinches down well, giving it good versatility depending on how much stuff you bring. I’m a little confused by the inside back pocket on the bag… it would seem to be a pocket for your water bladder, but it’s an extremely tight fit. There is a hole for your hose to go out the bag. There’s also a side access zipper to the main bag and a front pocket with side access zipper. The latter is roomy but you have to uncinch the bag to get to it. The top pocket more functional, although I wish Arc’teryx would have implemented its cool roll-down top design as on the Needle 45. Great pack for price if you are tall and thin and looking effectively transfer more weight to your lower body.

Simple, light, comfortable, what more can you ask for
I’ve had this pack for a little over a year now and I have nothing but good to say about it. I’ve had up to about 35lbs in it and the frame and suspension did a great job of transferring weight, keeping me comfy. The fabric is very tough, and even though I managed to make a small hole it as soon as I got it (not the fault of the pack, the hole was totally my fault), it has not gotten any bigger in a year of use. I have used it for backpacking on and off trail, snowshoeing trips, and traveling, and it has taken everything I’ve thrown at it. The shoulder straps, hip belt, and lumbar pad are firm, simple, and comfortable. Aside from the light weight and comfort, my favorite thing about the pack is its simplicity. There are no extra pockets, no sleeping bag compartment, and no weird straps hanging off, I love it! There are a couple things that may be of concern. The lumbar pad, hip belt, and shoulder straps are pre-curved and comfy, but they are not the thick, soft pads found on some packs. I prefer this packs setup, but some may not. Also, the lid is shaped a little strange. I cant really describe it other than that it looks flat and sort of scrunched. This seems to have absolutely no bearing on the usefulness of the lid, but it looks a little weird. All in all this is great pack for everything from backpacking to alpine climbing to traveling. It’s not only the lightest pack I own, it’s also the most comfortable and durable. I think the only thing that I would change is the shape of lid, but that is purely an aesthetic change. Thanks Arc’ for a great pack and thanks BC.com for a great price.

A Great Pack
This pack fits very well. I have a trim build and often feel like my pack is wider than I am, no problem with the Needle. It is also very comfortable. The padding is a good medium, not too squishy so there isn’t enough support but not too firm so it feels like being strapped to some 2×4’s. It is super durable and very water resistant. I can load it up for a week and feel comfortable carrying it. All in all a great pack.

Dramatic
I’ve only carried it a few times, but I had about 45 pounds of books and water, and the hip belt was perfect. It’s really firm, but shaped just right and the pack fit me very well. I love the features. It’s pretty monochromatic, but you can tell it’s a top shelf rucksack. I think I’ll be using it for everything for years if it doesn’t get nicked.

Very comfortable pack
The Arc’teryx Borea Backpack (2750-2990 cu in) is extremely well made and very comfortable to wear. I didn’t stress test it in the outdoors, but used it for backpacking through Italy for a month. It could probably be a little bit bigger for that, but with the addition of a small duffel bag, that was plenty. The bag looks incredibly good, is very sturdy and has plenty of straps and the like for different purposes.

Bomber pack!
This pack is pretty sweet! Lightweight, waterproof, comfortable, and super durable. I am really impressed with the construction of the pack. It s not over loaded with straps or pockets that you don t need. It holds all the gear I need for a trip, and it s easy to get in and out of with the great roll top opening. This is just an all around bomber pack! No complaints from me.

Minimalist is sick
I love this pack. It’s got all the features you need and none you don’t. It’s waterproof and bombproof. I found it to be super comfortable as well with some adjustment to the straps and waist belt.

Very nice!
Good Backpack!!
