Great for car camping and family backpacking, Kelty’s Gunnison 4 Tent is a well-vented, three-season design that’s ideal for warm weather outdoor adventures. Unlike Kelty’s Teton 4, the Gunnison 4 has a two-door design and more floor area with a weight gain that’s a little more than a pound. When you consider that some four-season, two-person climbing tents tip the scales at around the same weight, it’s easy to see why the Gunnison 4 is an exceptional value with plenty of potential for backcountry functionality. Kelty saved money by using 7001 aluminum DAC Pressfit poles in the dual-pole architecture. DAC Pressfit poles are structurally rugged but slightly heavier than the ultra-refined tent poles that you usually find on higher priced tents. The Gunnison 4’s dual-entrance design gives occupants a couple of options for getting out of the tent without rousing slumbers. Inside you’ll find gear loft loops for hanging LED lamps and other gear, plus internal storage pockets for organizing other items. The mesh wall vents enhance cross flow ventilation, although some backpackers and campers might find that the added air isn’t ideal for the extreme edges of three-season outdoor recreation. Pitching is fast and easy thanks to an intuitive color-coded clip construction design. If you’re looking for value and quality is essential, the Gunnison 4 Tent has the right features and the perfect weight for three-season family backpacking trips.

Product Reviews

  • great - this tent has stood up to serious rainfall… we use it for festivals and some hiking… its a bit heavy to carry up a mountain but simply due to its size. quality material and construction… the double door is very convenient i wish all my other tents had this.

Excellent for backpacking, climbing and light car camping, Kelty’s Teton 2 tent is a superb tent design that’s light on your wallet without being light on features. With 31 square feet of floor space and a packed weight of less than 5 lbs., the Teton 2 tent offers specs that are similar to higher priced backpacking and minimalist tents. The big cost-effective difference is the single door entrance and 7001 aluminum DAC Pressfit poles. The dual-pole design is structurally rugged and has been around for years, but it’s slightly heavier than the ultra-refined tent poles that you usually find on higher priced tents. Everything else about the Teton 2 Tent is on par with the best in the outdoor industry, including taped floor seams and Kelty’s Water TightWall enhancements for optimal weather protection. Because the ceiling has large mesh area along the crest, the Teton 2 offers exceptional venting between the walls and waterproof tent fly, although this extra airflow can be uncomfortable on frosty mornings (that’s why it’s a three-season tent). Kelty added a color-coded clip construction that’s easy to figure out, even if you don’t have time to look at pitching instructions. If you like the price and features but you’re looking for a tent for your family of four (or you and a couple of big pets) check out Kelty’s Teton 4 Tent, if you need two doors, Kelty’s Gunnison 2 has dual escape hatches and a little more room all the way around.

  • good tent - while 2 people can sleep in here you certainly can’t fit the gear for both people. I rented this tent for a 3 night trip with cars; it was pretty good. I could set it up by myself in the dark.

The Kelty Tioga External Frame Backpack is built for week-long backpacking trips where breathability and keeping cool are the highest priorities. Why fix something that isn’t broken That’s Kelty’s take on the traditionally-styled Tioga External Frame Pack. Dick Kelty began building external frame packs in 1952, although the production methods have changed, the Tioga’s spirit remains unchanged. The Tioga is large enough to haul enough gear for a full-week in the backcountry and it’s fully adjustable to accommodate a wide range of torso lengths and body types. The Tioga’s cargo space and pocket design make it easy to keep gear organized and readily available for quick access.

    Great value
I just got back after 10 days backpacking in the Sierras. This pack was stuffed to the gills. I found it very comfortable, well built and I was grateful for all the side pockets. I was impressed how adjustable the frame is for users of all sizes. The pack is a super value compared to what I would have paid for an internal frame pack.

    Awesome Pack
The Tioga 5500 is one great backpack. I purchased it for a walk-in Dall sheep hunt here in Alaska. It carried all my gear and then some. I didn’t get a sheep but did harvest a Caribou and hauled upwards of 100 lbs of meat in my pack with no problems. I would recommend this pack to anyone needing a comfortable roomy pack able to carry heavy loads.

Great Bag at a Good Price
This bag has a lot of sweet compartments, including the awesome and soft sunglasses case that kept my glasses safe in the rain and hail. Speaking of weather, I didn’t have a rain cover and my stuff stayed nearly completely dry even through 5 hours of hiking in off and on downpours and some hail. Adjustments are easily made to the fit of the bag without any help from others and the detachable pack fits really comfortably and is easy to get into while you’re wearing it. Overall a pretty sweet bag for the price.

Kelty built the Sierra to keep all of your backcountry gear neatly organized and protected. Daypack is awesome
This daypack is one of the best I have ever purchased, it has plenty of room for just about anything you would need for a day hike. The built in hydration system is great too. Just a really well made product.

At just over two pounds the light year won’t take up much room in your pack and is so light you may forget that you’re carrying it. Kelty eliminates unnecessary weight while including the technical features that make this bag ideal for backpacking. The hip-length zipper and zippered foot vent let you control temperature on hot summer nights. Any one interested in a value packed three season bag should check out the Kelty Light Year.

    Awesome bag
I’ve used a synthetic bag prior to this bag and never will I again go back to synthetics. This bag is super warm, super light, and super compact. You can’t beat this bag for backpacking.

    Not bad
This bag is light, compact, and the foot vent is nice for cooling off. Unfortunately, it s narrow in the middle, and the 3/4 zipper makes it hard to get in and out of bag.

    awesome bag!
We are family campers, and the kids bring enough to take up space! This bag is awesome, and packs up to the size slightly bigger than a football.

    Great 3-season bag
My girlfriend and I both have owned one of these bags for the past year. It has stood up to all temp ranges from hot 80F nights on the AT in July to 25F winter nights high up in the Smokey s. Unzipped, its cool enough for summer travel and fully zipped warm enough for most fall nights. If you just had the money to buy one bag for the whole year this would be the one to get.

    Great Product
I’m very pleased with the sleeping bag. Great value for the price.

    a pretty good backpack
This pack is sturdy and can pretty much take anything you throw at it. I ve stuffed it to the brim on two European vacations and on a couple backpacking excursions. It s a little heavy and the straps slip a little bit under heavy weight (more than 35lb) and it gets a little uncomfortable, but for moderate loads it’s a nice starter pack.
