Great for car camping and family backpacking, Kelty’s Gunnison 4 Tent is a well-vented, three-season design that’s ideal for warm weather outdoor adventures. Unlike Kelty’s Teton 4, the Gunnison 4 has a two-door design and more floor area with a weight gain that’s a little more than a pound. When you consider that some four-season, two-person climbing tents tip the scales at around the same weight, it’s easy to see why the Gunnison 4 is an exceptional value with plenty of potential for backcountry functionality. Kelty saved money by using 7001 aluminum DAC Pressfit poles in the dual-pole architecture. DAC Pressfit poles are structurally rugged but slightly heavier than the ultra-refined tent poles that you usually find on higher priced tents. The Gunnison 4’s dual-entrance design gives occupants a couple of options for getting out of the tent without rousing slumbers. Inside you’ll find gear loft loops for hanging LED lamps and other gear, plus internal storage pockets for organizing other items. The mesh wall vents enhance cross flow ventilation, although some backpackers and campers might find that the added air isn’t ideal for the extreme edges of three-season outdoor recreation. Pitching is fast and easy thanks to an intuitive color-coded clip construction design. If you’re looking for value and quality is essential, the Gunnison 4 Tent has the right features and the perfect weight for three-season family backpacking trips.

Product Reviews

  • great - this tent has stood up to serious rainfall… we use it for festivals and some hiking… its a bit heavy to carry up a mountain but simply due to its size. quality material and construction… the double door is very convenient i wish all my other tents had this.
